ENGCO Projects is currently supporting TasVic Greenlink (TVGL) during the early works and planning phase of the Marinus Link HVDC Interconnector Project, providing experienced Engineering, Health & Safety Advisors, Communications Advisors, and Project Planners to assist in preparation for major construction delivery.

Marinus Link is a nationally significant energy infrastructure project connecting North West Tasmania with Victoria’s Latrobe Valley, incorporating approximately 345km of HVDC and fibre optic cable infrastructure, including 90km of underground cable works through Gippsland. The project will strengthen Australia’s renewable energy network by improving energy transfer between Tasmania and the National Electricity Market.

ENGCO’s multidisciplinary team is supporting TVGL through project readiness activities, including engineering coordination, construction planning, safety systems implementation, stakeholder communications, and delivery assurance. This early involvement is assisting the project team to establish the processes, resources, and controls required for the successful transition into major construction activities.

Through the provision of flexible project-based and FIFO resources, ENGCO continues to support TVGL in preparing for the delivery of this landmark renewable energy project, contributing specialist capability across engineering, safety, communications, and project controls.

ENGCO Supporting Delivery of the Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline Project

ENGCO is proud to be supporting the McConnell Dowell–BMD Joint Venture (MBJV) by providing dedicated Health & Safety Advisory support on the landmark Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline (FGP) project in regional Queensland.

The project will deliver approximately 117 kilometres of 1-metre diameter pipeline, along with a new water treatment plant, pumping stations and reservoirs, providing long-term water security for the Gladstone region while supporting future industrial growth and the emerging hydrogen sector.

Working alongside the project team, ENGCO's Safety Advisors are helping maintain high safety standards across a diverse range of construction activities, including major earthworks, pipeline installation, trenchless crossings and associated civil infrastructure. With 21 trenchless crossings incorporated throughout the alignment, the project presents significant engineering and construction challenges requiring robust planning, risk management and a strong safety culture.

ENGCO Supporting the Newport Level Crossing Removal Project

ENGCO is proud to support the delivery of the Newport Level Crossing Removal Project, a major infrastructure upgrade removing the Maddox Road and Champion Road level crossings through the construction of new rail bridges and improved community connections.

The project has delivered two new passenger rail bridges over Maddox Road, with works progressing on the final rail bridge to allow freight services to operate above the road in late 2026. Champion Road has now been permanently closed to vehicles at the rail corridor, with the extension of Akuna Drive and a new pedestrian and cycling bridge providing improved connectivity for the local community.

ENGCO has been engaged to provide project delivery support, working alongside the project team to assist with the safe and successful delivery of this complex rail infrastructure project. Once complete, the upgrade will create a boom gate-free Newport, improving safety, travel reliability and connectivity for the community.

ENGCO provided Project Engineering support to a Geelong local Civil Subcontractor Lythgo Civil delivering the early works package for the Gnarwarre Samsung Energy Project, supporting the successful establishment of key site infrastructure ahead of major construction activities commencing.

The scope of works included the construction of access roads and associated early civil works, providing the foundations required for future project delivery. ENGCO’s support included construction coordination, engineering oversight, quality management, and technical assistance to help ensure works were delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

Through close collaboration with the delivery team and project stakeholders, the early works package was successfully completed, enabling the project to transition into the next phase of major construction activities with critical access and civil infrastructure in place.

The Rail Occupation involved the coordinated delivery of major construction activities, including rail track removal, major earthworks, installation of the vehicle underpass, station platforms, stairways, canopies, drainage, formation, track reconstruction works & combined services route.

ENGCO's personnel worked alongside the delivery team to help maintain programme certainty, safety and quality across multiple work fronts, contributing to the successful completion of this significant construction milestone.

ENGCO Supporting Safety Delivery on the SA Tram Grade Separation Project

ENGCO provided Health and Safety Advisor support during major rail shutdown works on the $870 million South Australia (SA) Tram Grade Separation Project, a significant infrastructure upgrade modernising the Adelaide-to-Glenelg tram corridor.

The project removed three major level crossings across Plympton, Morphettville and Glandore through the construction of new tram overpasses and the redevelopment of the South Road overpass into a 95-metre steel arch bridge. These upgrades improve safety, reduce congestion and deliver a more reliable tram network for the community.

During critical shutdown periods, ENGCO’s Safety Advisors supported the delivery team by providing onsite safety leadership, conducting inspections, coordinating safety requirements and ensuring high-risk rail activities were completed safely within a complex live transport environment.

With tram services successfully recommencing in January 2026, ENGCO is proud to have contributed to the safe delivery of this transformational project, supporting improved connectivity, accessibility and long-term benefits for Adelaide’s transport network.

ENGCO Projects is proud to be supporting a key subcontractor delivering specialised formwork, reinforcement fixing and concrete placement (FRP) activities at Melbourne Water’s Western Treatment Plant (WTP) in Werribee.

Through the provision of experienced Senior Project Management support, ENGCO is assisting with the planning, coordination and delivery of complex structural packages forming part of the ongoing upgrades at one of Australia’s largest and most significant wastewater treatment facilities.

The works involve the construction of critical concrete infrastructure including heavily reinforced treatment structures, sludge handling assets, equipment plinths, hydraulic containment structures and large-scale concrete slabs designed to support essential process equipment and long-term plant operations.

ENGCO’s Senior Project Managers are working closely with the subcontractor’s delivery teams, Tier-1 contractors and project stakeholders to support safe execution, programme management, construction coordination and quality outcomes across high-volume civil concrete activities.

The WTP upgrades represent a significant investment in Melbourne’s future water security and wastewater treatment capability, with specialised subcontractors playing a critical role in transforming complex engineering designs into durable infrastructure.

South32 GEMCO Wharf Recovery – Groote Eylandt

ENGCO provided critical FIFO Health and Safety Advisor support to the South32 GEMCO project team during the recovery and remediation works following the collapse of the Groote Eylandt export wharf caused by Tropical Cyclone Megan in 2024. The cyclone caused significant damage to key marine infrastructure supporting one of Australia’s largest manganese mining operations, requiring a major recovery effort to restore export capability.

ENGCO supported the safe delivery of complex marine remediation activities through onsite HSE leadership, risk management, contractor coordination, field inspections, and safety assurance across a challenging remote FIFO project environment.

Through dedicated resourcing and experienced safety personnel, ENGCO assisted the project team in maintaining strong safety outcomes throughout the recovery works, contributing to the successful completion of the wharf rebuild and the safe return of GEMCO’s export operations.

Throughout 2024, ENGCO has been working closely with Major Roads Projects Victoria, Development Victoria and the Manningham City Council to deliver the multimillion-dollar upgrade of Bulleen Park.

In accordance with the approved Master Plan, ENGCO has been overseeing design progression to inform the delivery strategy in preparation for project delivery activities.

ENGCO proudly continues supporting NELP

Since onboarding in 2022, ENGCO proudly continues to support North East Link, Victoria's largest ever road project!

North East Link will be built creating a direct uninterrupted route between the Eastern Freeway and the M80 Ring Road. In collaboration with Ediom Pty Ltd

ENGCO has been assisting North East Link through procurement, multiple contract awards and its early delivery phase of the M80 and Eastern Freeway Alliance packages. The project is taking shape, tunnel boring machines have arrived with the main tunnelling works due to commence shortly.

North East Link is expected to open in 2028.

Installation of 170 metres of Combined Service Route (CSR); approximately 1,000 metres of conduit in preparation for Signalling Infrastructure.

Installed 12 x Signalling /Comms pits.

Constructed 110 metres of above ground route.

Installed 1 x concrete LOC box foundation for future Signalling Equipment.

Installed 50 metres of perimeter fencing providing safe access for future maintainers.

Conducted structural assessments on existing infrastructure.

Constructed 2 x undertrack CSR crossings.

Multiple connections into existing LOC boxes & Signalling/Comms pits.

Thrilled to highlight the efforts of Engco's Senior Project Engineer Jamie Powell and Project Engineer Rowan Pritchard!

Jamie and Rowan have played a crucial role working with our valued clients McConnell Dowell & DTI on the Waurn Ponds to South Geelong Rail Duplication Project. Having been integrated into the Alliance, Jamie & Rowan have been working alongside a team of highly skilled Engineers, Supervisors and Project Support staff in an effort to leave a lasting legacy for Geelong.

The teams recent accomplishments include the successful completion of Stage 1 Upgrades to both Yarra & Swanston Street which included major drainage upgrades, reconfigured pavements, traffic islands, shared userpaths, landscaping and signage installation.

Works have now commenced on Stage 1 upgrades of Fyans Street Roundabout with Barwon Terrace upgrades set to commence in the coming weeks.

It’s been a busy 2024, with 24/7 shifts been underway for the majority of the year in preparation for the Major Rail Shutdown in June 💪

Congratulations to Jamie, Rowan and the entire MCD/DTI North Civils Team for their unwavering dedication and outstanding work.
